Meridan 5.5" Bullnose Carbon Steel Rosewood Handle Meridan, Connecticut 1880-1920s
5.5" bullnose from Meridan Cutlery co with their distinctive anvil logo and rosewood handle. Knife has been used but not sharpened down much, there are some gaps in the handle and shallow pits but nothing glaring.
Meridan Cutlery Co (of Meridan, Connecticut) as the blade of the knife is marked was used roughly between 1855 and 1924 when the company was bought by cutlery giant LF&C also of Meridan. This mark was used for a good length of time, so it is not a great diagnostic feature in itself. I would assume it is from the later 19th or early 20th century from its general design.
