Vintage K C Seelbach 10.25” Chef Knife Carbon Steel Rosewood Solingen, Germany 1950-70

Vintage K.C. Seelbach 10.25” chef knife made in Solingen Germany with hand forged after drop forged carbon steel blade, rosewood handle and nickel rivets.

Blade was a bit thick behind the edge from sharpenings and has been thinned and brought back to what would be similar to original geometry although it is a hair thinner than original grinds I have found from this maker. The blade originally would have had a bit more belly, it has a flat in the heel and a bit at the tip, if one wanted more curve in the tip it would be easy to change. Blade has a bit of flexibility at the tip 1/3 and has a great lively feel.  Edge is freshly sharpened.

German knives from the post war period show this curved transition from handle to bolster and were still done with a good amount of handwork alongside the industrial process in Solingen.

Blade is 10.25” from tip to heel, 1.75” wide at heel and 15.25” overall 7.5 oz
