Refurbished vintage carbon steel J A Henckels scimitar with a light buff and a fresh edge. Blade has some small pits from previous rust and has been sharpened in a little but still has lots of life left. Walnut handle with three nickel rivets is tight and secure.

Interesting historical side note, for the sake of good manners they left out the word “idiot” after the line “for cutting not chopping”

Henckels was very successful at exporting large amounts of high quality Solingen made knives and tools before the made in Solingen mark was super widely known.
