Antique French cleaver with a wide 6" edged blade, brass ferrules and horn scales. Blade has seen a bit of rust and has been lightly cleaned to remove the majority of the active rust but the darkened surface has been kept in tact to preserve its aging. 

This style of cleaver is designed to provide enough power with a short stroke to finish the job separating chops or getting through joints in butchery.

Blade has a convex edge and a fresh microbevel, it is ready to get to work.
